Brattleboro Hosts Safer Streets Forum

VTrans Releases Bike-Ped Program Report

New Section of Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Opens

LVRT_KenPicard_thumb.jpgSEVEN DAYS VERMONT -- "Just before 10:30 a.m., I mounted my bike in Oxbow Park in Morrisville and headed toward the newest section of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Virtually all my previous visits to this small Lamoille County town have been rest stops en route to somewhere else. But the recent completion of a beautiful, 17-mile rail trail, running from Morrisville to Cambridge, is likely to turn the area into a tourist destination on its own..."

Amtrak Launches Roll-On Bike Service in VT

amtrak_roll-on_service_test_thumb.jpgAmtrak has finally launched roll-on bike service on its Vermonter line!  Here are Local Motion volunteers Nic Anderson, Andy Witt, and Dave Cain at the Waterbury station having just tested the new racks on the train to Waterbury.  

Nic, Andy, and Dave had a lovely ride back from Waterbury, and confirmed that the new service works seamlessly.  Enjoy the ride!

Burlington Featured in 2016 National Report

benchmarking_2016_thumb.pngBurlington is the smallest US city included in the Alliance for Biking and Walking's 2016 Benchmarking Report, a survey of the status of walking and biking across the country.  The report covers all 50 states and the 50 most populous cities in the country, plus a handful of small to midsized cities chosen because of the strength of the bicycling movement in that community. Thanks to the efforts of Local Motion and our statewide partners, Burlington has made the cut since 2014!  Read on to learn more about what this national report has to say about walking and biking in Burlington and across Vermont...
