Every year, hundreds of volunteers donate thousands of hours to support Local Motion’s mission to make it safe, accessible, and fun for everyone to bike, walk, and roll in Vermont.

Volunteer for our EZ Breezy Group Rides
- Assist our ride leaders in ensuring the safety of riders on the open roads around Burlington
- Bring the energy level up with silly costumes & a fun playlist

Volunteer to help maintain our bike fleet
Help Wylie, Local Motion's lead bike mechanic, with off-season repair and cleaning of our bikes, including 100+ youth bikes that are part of our Bike Smart program, and 150 of our rental bikes that generate revenue for Local Motion's education, advocacy, and infrastructure work across the state of Vermont.
- Help clean off the bikes from a summer full of causeway dust - no special bike mechanical skills required
- Aid in tune-ups of our bike fleet - for those with some bike mechanical knowledge

Volunteer with Valet Bike Parking (VBP)

- Have fun while helping to provide safe and secure bike parking at events around Burlington on evenings and weekends.
- Support people choosing a sustainable transportation option.

Volunteer as a Bike Ferry Dockside Ambassador

- Travel out to “the Cut” on the beautiful Causeway - part of the Island Line Trail
- Greet cyclists, walkers, and rollers and provide helpful information about the local area and about Local Motion
- Assist with managing the flow of passengers waiting to board the Bike Ferry
- Earn a discount on groceries as part of the City Market member worker program
