Seasonal Jobs

There is no better way to spend this summer than being outdoors with us! If you have a passion for biking, being active, or being near the water, explore our opportunities.

Trailside Center Staff, aka Bike Rental "RockStars"

Spend your summer on Burlington's waterfront at Local Motion's Trailside Center. Located near King Street, right on the bike path, we operate a fast paced non-profit bike rental center that supports Local Motion's advocacy in active transportation. The summer means people travel to Burlington from all over the United States to ride our world class Island Line Bike Path, and you'll meet plenty of them as you help them with their bikes, their directions, and sometimes just to talk bikes. We train all of our staff in basic bike mechanical work, and if you're interested we can help you fine tune those skills even further.

Trailer Driver - Bike Smart Program

Do you love making hundreds and hundreds of kids happy?  Do you want to see kids have the opportunity to learn how to bike safely?  Do you have experience towing trailers and tinkering with bikes?  We're looking for drivers for our Bike Smart trailers.  Local Motion's Bike Smart trailers go to schools all over Vermont and give kids an opportunity to learn how to ride a bicycle safely and confidently.  These 20' trailers are packed with about 50 bikes of all sizes and stay at a school for 1-3 weeks before going to the next school.  Our Bike Smart drivers are an essential component of our program--without our crew, we couldn't make this program work!
