Walk/Bike Saint Albans

Walk/Bike Saint Albans is a group of residents that's working towards improving safety for walking and biking in Saint Albans City and Saint Albans Town. The group is currently focused on achieving connected walk and bike infrastructure from the City to businesses along Route 7 to the north. The corridor currently has intermittent sidewalks and no bike infrastructure outside of Saint Albans City. It also includes the western end of the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail (MVRT). 

In 2018, the Town and City of Saint Albans completed a Route 7 Livability Study that identified possible improvements including bike lanes, shared use paths, and sidewalks. Walk/Bike Saint Albans is now focused on bringing those recommendations to fruition through advocacy and collaboration with the local governments, regional planning commission, and VTrans.
