Bike, walk, and roll to 251

Did you know that there are 251 towns in Vermont? With your help, we want to visit every single one by means of active transportation - inspired by The 251 Club of Vermont

Take a photo or video clip at every Vermont town you visit this summer. We'll make fun compilations all season of your trips (and ours too). Let's show off just how far we can go by active means! Help us fill the map.

Welcome to Local Motion

We are excited to welcome two new members to our team: our new Programs Director Richard Amore, and new Complete Streets Specialist Marcie Gallagher.

In a bittersweet moment, we also say goodbye to Jonathon Weber, Susan Grasso, and Keith Wright who are all entering into exciting new chapters of their lives. A heartfelt thank you for their many years with Local Motion and the positive changes that they’ve made in our communities!

Celebrate SunDay with a Kidical Mass

SunDay is a day of action on September 21, celebrating solar and wind power and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. We're aiming to inspire the youngest generation to choose active transportation by showing off just how fun it can be!

Local Motion and DadGuild are hosting a Kidical Mass - a group of families rolling & strolling on our safe local infrastructure - here in Burlington VT.

Host a Kidical Mass in your own town, in Vermont or anywhere in the world. It should be easy and fun! We put together a template and guidelines to help you get started.
