Who We Are
Great Rutland Streets is a grassroots group advocating for people-first transportation: walking, biking, rolling, and transit in Rutland . Anyone is welcomed to join our meetings or Google Group to stay up to date and participate in the work!
We focus our efforts on three core principles:
- Share the Vision: We know that active transportation has broad and powerful benefits for the economy, social and public health, safety, and more. We center our work on sharing this vision with the public.
- Create the Culture: In order to take action, we need to have a community of people interested and engaged in active transportation. Whether that takes the form of advocacy, riding your bike, or even walking to school—we want to bring a culture of active transportation to Rutland!
- Build the Infrastructure: At the end of the day, our goal is to push the city of Rutland to make real improvements to it's roads, sidewalks, and paths so that the city can be safer and more accessible for everyone.
