Color the Valley is hosting a screening of the film Route to Emancipation– two short documentary films totaling 28 minutes about 3 Black cyclists who ride from Austin, the capital of Texas to Galveston, where Juneteenth started, while exploring Black history in Texas and a connection to place within that context.
After the film screening, we will be hosting a Q + A with Ariel Marlowe, one of the riders in the film and a founder of Black History Bike Ride. Ariel is an energetic & engaging speaker and brings a great message to this project.
