Legacy Society

Local Motion established the Legacy Society in 2024 to recognize individuals and families with the vision and foresight to make provisions in their estate plans for a planned gift to Local Motion.

The great thing about the Local Motion Legacy Society is that it's available to anyone! It doesn't require great wealth. Instead, it's an opportunity for our loyal supporters to have a lasting and meaningful impact on the future of biking and walking in Vermont. Your financial contribution will ensure the continuation of programs that promote a healthy environment, fitness, fun, and independence through sustainable transportation in the face of increasing challenges. If you have made arrangements in your will, trust, or other deferred gift mechanism to make your gift to Local Motion, you are already eligible to be a member!

What are the benefits of joining?

  • Knowing that your gift will help provide for Local Motion's long-term financial well-being and directly benefit our programmatic and/or advocacy efforts.
  • Advance invitation to special events throughout the year.
  • Your name is listed as a member of the Legacy Society (or, you may remain anonymous).

How does the Local Motion Legacy Society Work?

  • Establish - Donors can include a gift to Local Motion in their will, establishing a bequest or other planned gift.
  • Notify - Donors notify Local Motion of their plans, and automatically become members of the Legacy Society.
