Right on the trail, Local Motion’s Trailside Center is a great place to start your trail adventure.  Whether you’re 6 or 60, we can set you up on a bike that’s just your speed or skates that are just your size.  We’re open 10-6 daily from May through October.

We rent hybrid bicycles especially suited for the trail’s paved and unpaved sections.  We also rent a limited selection of tandem bicycles, trailers, and tag-a-longs for kids, plus a full selection of inline skates. New this season: a recumbent tricycle donated by Bike Recycle! Great for cyclists with difficulty balancing or anyone looking for a fun ride.

Our rental fleet is provided through a cooperative arrangement with North Star Sports and the Skirack.  There are also a number of other outdoor shops that rent equipment.  All area outdoor shops are members of Local Motion and we like sending them business!  Tell them we sent you.

Rentals are on a first come, first serve basis.  We only take reservations on our rental equipment at the full day rate.  Reservations must be prepaid.   To reserve a bike or skates with a credit card, call us at (802) 652-2453. 

Local Motion members get a 10% discount. Rental proceeds support Local Motion’s efforts to make the Burlington area a great place to walk, bike, run and skate. Proceeds from trike rentals go to benefit Bike Recycle Vermont's work enhancing mobility and expanding opportunities for low-income Vermonters. 15% of the tandem bike proceeds go to VT Adaptive Ski & Sport – a non-profit helping furthering the independence of individuals with disabilities by providing access to recreational activities.
