Local Motion is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Executive Director to lead the organization. This full time exempt position reports to the Local Motion Board of Directors and is based in Burlington while overseeing and coordinating statewide activities within the mission of the organization. The Executive Director manages a team of twelve year round employees, a team of seasonal employees, and an incredible group of 200 volunteers. Responsibilities include leading advocacy efforts for the bike and pedestrian community in Vermont; cultivating collaborative relationships with external stakeholders throughout Vermont, including the business community, local and state government, foundations and other non-profit/ community groups; leading the implementation of the Board-approved strategic plan; fostering a supportive, creative and exciting internal work environment for staff; overseeing the management of all Local Motion programs to enhance their effectiveness, financial position, and visibility; maintaining and growing Local Motion’s funding sources; and ensuring compliance with all contractual and legal requirements. Local Motion is hiring a part-time Data Manager. This position manages all aspects of our CRM database using the NationBuilder platform. In addition, the Data Manager coordinates staff use of our Google Suite of applications, administers our website and social media platforms, and serves as the primary liaison for our external IT/network service provider.

Local Motion is hiring a Community Technical Assistance Manager to help Vermont communities jump-start on-the-ground change for better and safer biking and walking by identifying changes that will produce the greatest benefit, running pop-up demonstration projects to test those changes, and developing the plans and building the support needed to make those changes permanent. This position is a partnership with Team Better Block, a national organization that helps communities design and lead projects to make public spaces more people-friendly.This is a full-time, year-round position.
