Our Programs

Bike Recycle Vermont

MarkandTraineewithshiftersmPublic transportation in Vermont is limited. Owning a bike makes it possible to travel to and from work, to visit friends, and to get acquainted with your surroundings. At our Bike Recycle Vermont shop, we rebuild bikes and pass them on to low-income Vermonters. Learn more about the program and become a volunteer bike mechanic today!

Island Line Trail

2005FerryOperationTwoBoatssmHop on the spectacular 12-mile trail along Lake Champlain. The Island Line cruises through Burlington’s waterfront and scoots out on the Colchester Causeway three miles into the middle of the lake! Public beaches, natural areas, and scenic vistas abound.

Safe Routes to School

IWalk-2008-Walking-RocksThe program seeks to get more children walking and bicycling to school more often. Five decades ago, 70% of children across the country walked or biked to school. Today, about 13% walk or bike. Safe Routes to School is getting our communities active again.
