As the seasons transition from Winter, to Mud season, and eventually Spring throughout the month of April and until the month of... August, we can continue to celebrate the diversity of the seasons and Vermont's defiance of the laws of nature. Still think we can't have all the seasons in a single week? Think again.
Regardless of what it is the weather is doing, we can celebrate transition and embrace that which is thrown our way. Partaking in the Muddy Onion Spring Classic Gravel Road Ride embodies the nature of Vermonters and their fortitude in the face of the unexpected. Will the roads be smooth buttery dirt, or goopy muddy ruts? Take a gamble to find out. Always ride.
The Muddy Onion Spring Classic Gravel Ride falls on April 29th. There's no telling what the weather will be, but rest assured that there is a 100% chance of bikes, roads, weather, and food on the date of the event.
2017 Gravel Grinder
If you are into muddy spring gravel rides; the week after the Muddy Onion is the Waterbury Area Trail Alliance Gravel Grinder
Very similar to the Muddy Onion, the Gravel Grinder is a 25+ ride on mostly dirt roads & usually 1 class-4 section in and around the Waterbury area. Great food & drink afterwards!
