    Vermont Gran Fondo 2019

The Vermont Gran Fondo is a non-competitive ride through Vermont’s Green Mountains. This ride will test your fitness with its challenging climbs. There are amazing views at the top each gap—savor them for a moment before you speed downhill.

There are two well-known gap rides through the central Vermont region, the ‘6-Gap Ride’ and the ‘4-Gap Ride’ – aka the ‘LAMB’; Lincoln Gap, Appalachain Gap, Middlebury Gap, and Brandon Gap. The 6-Gap ride includes all the LAMB climbs but, for the ultimate Green Mountain Challenge, two more climbs, typically Roxbury Gap and Rochester Gap (aka – Bethel Gap), added to the mix will surely give you a good night’s sleep. The four climbs each year will pass over a selection from this list.

Food, Drink, and Music to Recover and Relax. Saturday, June 29th 2 to 7 p.m. at the main event tent at the Bristol Rec Club, 110 Airport Drive, Bristol, VT

    RAS Gravel Adventure 2019

    41.6 Miles

    4000 ft of climbing

Famed JHR Climb with 21% grade

    88% Gravel

My inspiration for this ride came from the Vermont Overland and the increasing popularity to ride on dirt versus payment.  If your looking for a challenging Saturday morning effort with good people, fast riders and a cause that drastically needs the attention of the medical field, then the RAS Ride is for you. RAS Gravel along with Vermont Rare an organization that cares deeply about creating a community in Vermont and beyond for those living with and affected by rare disease. We intimately know the challenges of the rare disease journey.  As passionate cyclists, we also know that there are parallels that exist between cycling and walking the rare disease path. Challenges are made easier when taken together – this is the very essence of gravel adventure riding.

My ride begins out of Wild Wings Nordic Center in my home town of Peru, Vermont at 9am.  As many returning riders can attest, the 42 miles and 4000 plus elevation gain covers some of the most scenic gravel and Class IV roads in Southern Vermont. 88% taking place on dirt, it’s sure to test your off road skill set.
