Essex Junction is a friendly Vermont village with a strong local focus on quality education, economic development, and sustainability. Essex Junction hosts many public parks, libraries, and the Champlain Exposition. It is also home to Global Foundries, one of Vermont's largest employers.
Local Motion is supportive of local efforts to make Essex Junction an even better place to walk and bike. We have helped students at Hiawatha Elementary and Summit Street Schools learn how to pedal with style and confidence through our Bike Smart trainings and encouraged adults to make two wheel transportation a part of their routine through our Everyday Bicycling workshops at Essex Free Library.
We’ve also provided technical assistance for Essex’s Town/Village Bicycle Pedestrian Plan, which assesses the existing network, and identifies and prioritizes future needs so that the Town and Village can pursue implementation opportunities as they arise. To become more involved in making Essex Junction a safe and welcoming environment for walking and biking consider joining the Essex Junction Walk/Bike Advisory Committee.
