Don't let a flat tire or a squeaky chain ruin your ride on campus! There are several excellent bicycle shops within two miles of the University of Vermont campus that are willing to mend your bicycle's woes. Additionally, if you don't currently own a bicycle, these shops serve as great stepping stones to get into the wonderful world of cycling.
- Ski Rack (85 Main Street, Burlington, VT) SkiRack is a full-fledged outdoor goods and services shop...think of it as your one-stop-shop for anything outdoors. Their bicycle department has a wide selection of bicycle brands and accessories to choose from so you will not leave the store empty handed. Their staff is also fully equipped to service all of your bike needs, minor or major fixes. Check out the Ski Rack today! (Editors Note: It's not a bad place to buy a pair of skis or a snowboard for the winter months too!)
- North Star Sports (100 Main Street, Burlington, VT) North Star Sports is located directly across the street from Ski Rack but is completely dedicated to everything bicycling. North Star Sports carries several brands of bicycles from Giant to Trek and a multitude of accessories for every style of riding. Don't let missing tools and parts deter your bicycle-repair projects. The mechanics at North Star are top notch experts who can "help put Humpty Dumpty back together again." This is a full-service shop and a great place to get all of your needs met.
- Old Spokes Home (322 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington, VT) For those of you students and faculty who live north of Pearl Street, this is the shop for you. Recently voted in Bicycling magazine under the "Shops We Love", Old Spokes Home meshes old school cycling flair with flashy new bikes. The employees are head over heals in love with biking and you will not be disappointed with the quality of the customer service here. They treat each bicycle like their own with the utmost care and respect.
