Often times, good bicycle and pedestrian facilities are often thrown by the wayside in favor of automobile centered infrastructure. At construction and road building sites the pedestrian is often treated like a second class citizen when compared to motorists. Special rights should be afforded to those who choose to use alternative modes of transportation such as bicycling.
