New, expanded website recently announced!
- 200+ trails for hiking, biking, inline skating, and cross-country skiing, all mapped and online
- Over 50 volunteers have GPSed and photographed each trail
- Collaborative effort between Local Motion and 40 local trail stewards and towns
The Trail Finder's goal is to help people get out, get active, and explore our beautiful area. Whether you're a resident or a visitor, commuting or recreating, seeking thrills or a quiet moment, we'll help you find a great place to go!

As part of our continuing effort to build Vermont's most comprehensive trail guide, the Trail Finder is expanding to Franklin and Lamoille Counties this year! We are looking for volunteers who live in those areas to help us survey trails. Surveying involves collecting GPS data, notes, and photos that we'll then upload to the site. It's easy and fun. Anyone can participate and you'll help make this free resource better! Please email

Local Motion's online trail mapping resource recently won a national award from American Trails for the site's design and functionality. But we're not resting on our laurels.
