Waterfront views of Lake Champlain from Burlington to Colchester. Numerous parks and natural areas along the way, a trail bridge over the mouth of the Winooski River, and Colchester's Causeway Park. Restrooms are available at Oakledge Park, Perkins Pier, the waterfront Boathouse, the Skate Park, North Beach, Leddy Beach, Charlie's Boathouse and Airport Park.

Length: 12.5 miles
Surface: 7 miles paved on south end of trail; 6.8 miles packed gravel sections to the north.
Trail Conditions: The 5 miles of trail in Colchester at the north end of the trail are unpaved and are not recommended for inline skates or road bikes with narrow tires. 3 of these 5 miles have fairly soft gravel coverage; some riders may need to get off and walk, though others will be able to ride right through. The last 2 miles are a harder packed gravel surface.

- Ride, walk and skate on the right side of the path
- Obey all traffic laws and signs, use hand signals to turn
- Wear a helmet and other protective safety gear
- Ring bell or say "passing on your left" when passing
- Be prepared for unpredictable or severe weather on the Causeway
- Ride single file on road
