Bike Recycle Vermont (BRV) is a community bike shop in Burlington's Old North End which aims to provide sustainable and healthy transportation to low-income individuals. Started by Ron Manganiello volunteering selflessly in 2004 and incorporated under Local Motion in 2008, the program continues to grow. Volunteers, vital to the program, work with BRV's small staff of two to refurbish donated bicycles and distribute them to resettled refugees, low-income adults and children, those recently released from prison, and the area's homeless population. BRV has provided income-eligible recipients with 3300 bikes since 2004!

BRV also works with at-risk youth, along with students from numerous Chittenden county schools, teaching bike repair and life skills.

Bike Recycle Vermont is a project of Local Motion, a greater Burlington 501(c)3 non-profit. For more information about Bike Recycle Vermont or Local Motion, please call 861-2700 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
