Hinesburg Selectboard Adopts Lower Budget Print E-mail

The Hinesburg Selectboard adopted a town budget of $2,664,341 Monday night, lower than the current year's figure by $36,050.  It is the second consecutive year that the budget has been reduced...

The board lowered several appropriations requested by town departments and commissions and allowed some increases to stand.  Rocky Martin, director of buildings and facilities said the $5,000 proposed for parking and signs on trails in the LaPlatte Headwaters Town Forest was cut, but volunteers might step up to make the signs.

Last year, Martin requested $42,000 for a sidewalk to connect Lyman Meadows Road to a sidewalk network beside Vermont 116.  It did not survive the cuts last year or this year, and will have to wait for a more favorable time, he said...
