Nationally, Bike Month started in 1956, and it's all about two wheels. Here in Vermont, we do things a bit differently -- we include walking as well as bicycling!
Here are just a few of the exciting components for Bike/Walk Month this May:
Sign up for the VT Bike Challenge! This fun season-long campaign challenges all of us to bike more often. Sign up today! It starts in May and continues through September. Sponsored by Earls' Cyclery & Fitness. One lucky participant will win a free bike tour from Sojourn Bicycling & Active Vacations -- valued at over $2,500!
Join us for the Vermont Bike Challenge Launch Event! May 1 at noon at Church and College in downtown Burlington. Mayor Wienberger will be leading the event. Everyone who comes on a bike will be entered in a raffle for great bicycling prizes! Be there.
Get out with your kids on Walk 'n Roll to School Day! Join us in celebrating Vermont's second annual Walk and Roll to School Day statewide on May 1. This day is a great way to encourage positive changes in community culture, and to create environments that are more inviting for everyone, young and old.
A complete list of activities is below. Have fun!

Thank you to the City of Burlington for helping fund Bike-Walk Month 2013!
