Working With Local Motion

Who We Are and What We Do

Local Motion provides flexible, customized support and guidance for schools that want to increase their rates of walking and biking. Each school is assigned a coordinator who is responsible for helping the school develop and implement a plan that meets both the needs of the school and the requirements of the state Safe Routes to School program.

Jason Van Driesche

Jason Van Driesche, our Education and Safety Manager, directs our Safe Routes to School program. With graduate training in urban and regional planning and a background in nonprofit program management, Jason keeps the program on track and provides the team with the resources and support they need to help schools meet their goals.

Our Regional Coordinators -- Pam Mathews, Barb Pitfido, and Jill Nye-McKeown -- bring years of experience to the program. They have worked with schools on a wide range of walking and biking issues, from identifying the best routes for kids to take to helping find the funds to put in sidewalks to developing incentive programs that get more kids walking.
