Report Recklessness Hotline
Report Recklessness on County Streets

CALL 861-3344 OR FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW.

Are you frustrated by drivers who don't slow down in school zones?  Upset at pedestrians who dart out into traffic, endangering themselves and others?  Concerned about cyclists who don't follow the rules of the road?

Don't get mad -- do something!  The "Report Recklessness" system is designed to help concerned citizens connect with local law enforcement about safe streets issues in a way that facilitates follow-up.  All reports are forwarded promptly to the appropriate police department, and all incidents are tracked and evaluated so as to identify and address any patterns that emerge.

Please use the form below to report reckless behavior on streets and sidewalks in Chittenden County. Examples might include:

  • Motorists speeding, not stopping at crosswalks, or running red lights
  • Pedestrians darting across a busy street without using a crosswalk
  • Cyclists disregarding the rules of the road (i.e., not stopping at stop signs)

Please provide as many specific details as possible. However, reports are useful even if it is not possible to identify the individual in question, as police will use the data provided not only to contact repeat offenders, but also to identify patterns of recklessness and locations with chronic problems.

Be sure to hit "Submit" at the end of the form!

IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FORM TO REPORT AN EMERGENCY. While all information is forwarded promptly to law enforcement, reports are not monitored in real time. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, PLEASE DIAL 911.
