Local Motion offers senior centers and retirement homes free "Safe Walking Kits" to help elders stay safe when they are out walking (or biking!). The kits consist of the following:

• Day-glo vests with reflective striping (to keep at the front desk and loan out to residents/visitors)
• Reflective zipper pulls and reflective armbands (for general distribution to residents/visitors)
• Our "Give Respect, Get Respect" brochure with an overview of the rules of the road for all modes

We distribute these kits in conjunction with our "Street-Safe Seniors" presentations at senior centers and retirement homes. These informative and interactive presentations provide information and answer questions not only about safety for elders who are walking or biking, but also about how older motorists can interact safely with pedestrians and bike riders on the road.
