Burlington area residents now have one more reason to ride. With a simple sticker, you can now earn discounts at local shops. Go ahead, you've earned it!

The concept is easy: purchase a $5 sticker, affix it to your helmet, then present it for your discount at over 50 participating stores. You can purchase your $5 Bicycle Benefits sticker at Local Motion or at most participating businesses and start earning Bicycle Benefits right away.

Where does the discount apply? You can find the current list of participating Vermont businesses online. You'll also find many other communities across the country offering Bicycle Benefits, so be sure to travel with your helmet sticker!

Bicycle Benefits was dreamed up by Saint Michael's College student Dillon Klepetar. He and his brother, Ian, started the program in Saratoga Springs, NY, looking to promote human-powered transportation, physical fitness, and bike safety (the sticker goes on the helmet, so the helmet goes with you!). Dillon brought the concept to Burlington in 2006 and has so far signed up over 50 businesses.
