Caledonia County

Caledonia county is the most populous county in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Its largest towns are St. Johnsbury, Danville, Hardwick, and Lyndon. The county is a fantastic destination for cycling of all kinds as it is home to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, which has its eastern terminus in St. Johnsbury, and the Kingdom Trails, an impressive network of interconnected multi-user dirt trails.

Local Motion supports the efforts of local communities to make Caledonia County and its towns a safer place for walking and biking. We are working with the citizens of St. Johnsbury and Lyndon to address bike and pedestrian safety issues in the village center. We’ve also helped students at Burke Town School and Miller’s Run School to learn how to pedal with style and confidence through our Bike Smart trainings.

To become more involved in making Caledonia County a safer place to walk and bike, consider getting involved at your local level, or host a bicycling education event in your school or workplace.
