The shoreline of Lake Champlain has seen devastating flooding in recent weeks, damaging homes and natural areas. Our own Island Line Trail has especially taken a beating. Lake Champlain’s record high water has damaged many sections of Vermont’s most popular multi-use trail. Time will tell how bad the damage will be. Local Motion is working with trail managers to secure FEMA funding so repairs can be made. Stay tuned.

Vermont forests were hard hit after last Wednesday’s windstorm. Many people were left without power and otherwise sturdy stands of trees were toppled in some areas.
