Marc Sherman and Mike Donahue, the visionary owners of Outdoor Gear Exchange, have just opened up an expanded retail store in the old Woolworth’s / Old Navy space on Church Street in downtown.  Check out the recent Free Press story.  Give it up for Marc and Mike!

One week after Skirack owners opened up a Patagonia store on Bank Street, downtown is yet again showing the importance of the outdoor recreation industry to our economy.  Marc started the Outdoor Gear Exchange on Main Street in 1995 near the Flynn Theater.  OGE’s growth has outgrown two locations since then and the basement of their new store will handle the company’s growing internet sales.

OGE’s new home finally is able to accommodate their wide selection of new and consigned outdoor equipment, clothing, footwear and so much more.  OGE supports Local Motion and many other area non-profit organizations with their nickle-per-bag fundraiser and their annual Eco-Fest.

Local Motion salutes Marc, Mike and all the local outdoor business leaders who have committed to growing their business in our region.  With such great local businesses, who needs REI?!
