Step one is done: new lanes on North Avenue are painted, but to non-cyclists they seem quite confusing. It might be helpful to explain "why there are 2 white lines and how drive/bike using them" in a news story on tv. That would probably reach most of the new north end. I'm a cyclist and driver, so I was able to explain the lanes to my grandparents, my neighbor, and my parents, but many MANY folks don't know what all the extra lines mean and the signage doesn't explain the bike lanes. This leads to unsafe driving and especially unsafe turning. Yesterday I witnessed several cars driving full-speed down the central turn lane. Thanks for all the good work you do - hope to see a news story on popular media that reaches drivers in the 50+ age range (e.g. not just facebook)!
